The short version: this app collects nothing about you. No account, no tracking, no analytics, no data leaving your phone. The guide works fully offline, and the only thing stored is the favorites you save, which stay on your device.
What we collect
Nothing. San Diego Visitors Guide has no accounts, no sign‑in, no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We do not know who you are, where you are, or which places you've looked at. There is no server for the app to talk to, so there is nothing for us to collect.
What stays on your phone
The places you tap the heart on are saved to Favorites using Apple's standard on‑device storage (UserDefaults). That list is never uploaded anywhere. If you delete the app, it's gone with it.
Does the app need the internet?
Mostly no. Every place, description, and photo in the guide is bundled inside the app itself, so browsing works with no signal at all. Two things do need a connection: the Map tab, which loads its background imagery from Apple Maps, and anything you tap that leaves the app, like a venue's website, an address, or a phone number.
Links to other websites
Individual places can link out to the venue's own website, and tapping an address opens Apple Maps. Those destinations are not ours. Once you leave the app you're on someone else's site, under their own privacy policy and terms, and we have no visibility into or control over what they collect.
Subscription & payment
Guide Pro starts with a 1‑day free trial. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, it becomes a $9.99/month subscription that renews automatically until you cancel. Payment is charged to your Apple Account.
Your subscription auto‑renews unless turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Manage or cancel any time in Settings → your Apple Account name → Subscriptions on your device, or from the More tab inside the app.
All payment details are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card number, billing address, or any other payment information — Apple does not share that with us.
Children's privacy
San Diego Visitors Guide is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13 — because it does not collect information from anyone at all, of any age.
Photo credits & licensing
Photography in the guide comes from Wikimedia Commons contributors under Creative Commons licenses, from the businesses and organizations featured, and from public‑domain government sources. Each photo carries its credit line on the place's page inside the app.
Accuracy & your own judgment
Every listing is researched by hand and checked before release, but places change. Hours shift with the season, prices go up, and businesses close. Always confirm with the venue directly before making a trip, especially somewhere far out in the county.
Some listings cover beaches, trails, and backcountry. Conditions there can be genuinely hazardous. Nothing in the app is a safety assessment, and you're responsible for your own decisions once you're out there.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, meaning the app starts collecting something it doesn't today, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and reflect the change in the app's own Privacy & Terms screen before it ships in an update.
